2017-2018 Club Nights

Swim club nights are on a fortnightly basis conducted on Wednesday evenings commencing on the 4th October 2017.

These nights are the most important function the club performs.  This is where we provide races for all our swimmers from novice through to State and National level.  It also provides swimmers with an opportunity to show their parents and coaches, newly learnt skills in a racing situation.  All races are swum in a friendly non-threatening environment.  We endeavour to organise races according to each swimmer’s level.  Boys and girls swim together for points, according to their times.  Points are awarded for swimming and improvement of personal best times (P.B’s).

*Nominations for club nights are required online by 7:00pm on the Tuesday prior to club.

(In order to swim a 100m event, you must have achieved a club night 50m time faster than the promotional time)

We announce each event that we need the swimmers to marshall for and ask that they go promptly to the marshalling area which is usually near Lane 8 at the deep end of the pool.

Volunteering is required

On club night we need help with timekeeping and other official duties.  Our pool deck organisers will be more than happy to teach you how to timekeep etc.  All assistance is greatly appreciated and it allows you, as parents to become involved in your child’s sport and it is a fantastic way to get to know everyone.

BBQ Dinner Available on Club Nights

Each club night we have a barbeque that has been a major fundraiser for a number of seasons.  This season there will be a roster for volunteers.  We invite club members to come along and assist with our BBQ.  If everyone can help at just one or two club nights during the season the burden will be shared.  Food and drinks will be available from around 5.30pm - 7.00pm each club night.  So parents will still see their children swim. Kylie Sheehan will be organising the BBQ this year.  We will have the roster on hand at club night for volunteers to sign up. No experience needed, we will train you on the job.

If you have a query please see Kylie or Monique

Club Championships

Club championships are special nights in which all Competitive Members can compete to do their best in their own age groups.  All swimmers who take part will accrue points towards a trophy at the end of the season.

Championships are swum in all the four strokes (Freestyle, Backstroke, Breaststroke and Butterfly) as well as Distance Freestyle and Individual Medley events. Program will be finalised later in the season. Ages start at 6 years and under and go through to 17 years and over and Open events.
